Tara is located in Sydney’s cosmopolitan Newtown/Enmore area which offers guests a gracious and stylish place to stay, 20-30 minutes by bus from Circular Quay. Built in 1886 on large grounds, this recently renovated Victorian house has a mix of classic mid 20th century and antique furniture and improvements are ongoing. We are close to UTS and Sydney University, many restaurants, cafes, bars and theatres. Interiors have been thoughtfully styled to take advantage of the seriously spacious rooms and to ensure comfort for our guests. Think faded glory outside as per Venice and Firenze with clean creative spaces therein, tall ceilings with French doors opening onto large verandahs – More Corbusier than Chippendale, not too twee, not too quiet, more boho than 5 star, more artist’s digs than the Hilton or a cottage in the country! It has to be said that we offer an urban experience as per Soho, New York, rather than a sojourn in an English rural setting. This is comfortable, informal accommodation and our guests are many and varied.
